Welcome to Caleeforneea

This ought to be good.

Although coming from a state that elected Jesse “The Body” Ventura as its govenor, it might not be all bad. In fact… I’d rather have Jesse than Pawlenty.

Here’s one Why I Voted for Arnold article that is fairly convincing.

Regardless, the whole thing is a sham. It’s all been directed by Arnold from the start. (farther down the page on the above link)

Obligatory Warblogging.com Reference

One site I read every morning while I eat my Wheaties is Warblogging.com

I know I repeatedly mention and link to it on these pages… and I know John D. gets pretty tired of me sending him an IM once every couple days telling him to go check it out, but it’s an important site, because the man speaks clearly and forcefully.

The author of the site writes under a pen name, and I would venture a guess that it is someone who is somewhat well-known. Even if it’s not a well-known person I’d run a “Draft Warblogging-person” campaign to see this guy in office, whoever it is.

So go check it out. Read it today!

How Hard Can It Be?

Mr. President, this is called a telephone

We know that senior administration officials told Robert Novak that she worked for the CIA. Those facts are beyond dispute.

If Bush wants to know who talked to Novak ó if he doesn’t already ó all he has to do is pick up the phone and ask his senior staff who is responsible.

How true is this post on (ahem) the DNC website. Seriously. How many different people could “senior administration officials” be? It has been reported elsewhere, that this leak was actually shopped to about 6 different newspapers, but was only run by Mr. Novak.

And the mood is darkened.

Regarding my previous post, about the only thing that darkens my mood these days is Bush Jr. and his cabal of neocons that are ruining our country day by day.

I point to the always spot on, Warblogging.com

America isn’t supposed to be a police state. In America there is a check and a balance on the police. The judiciary serves as their check. It is up to the judiciary to determine whether or not the police really do need to search someone or something. It is up to the judiciary to determine whether an innocent man’s rights are being violated.

Sigh…

Radiohead – Lucky

I’m on a roll,
I’m on a roll this time
I feel my luck could change.

Kill me Sarah,
kill me again with love,
it’s gonna be a glorious day.

Pull me out of the aircrash,
Pull me out of the lake,
I’m your superhero,
we are standing on the edge.

The head of state has called for me by name
but I don’t have time for him.
It’s gonna be a glorious day!
I feel my luck could change.

Pull me out of the aircrash,
Pull me out of the lake,
I’m your superhero,
we are standing on the edge.
We are standing on the edge.

As far as Radiohead songs go, this is about as hopeful and happy as they come. I hope our country’s luck changes…

Step 1: Collect underpants,
Step 2: …
Step 3: Profit!

Maybe Bush won’t be re-elected…

Excellent Op-Ed in the Star Tribune

Editorial: Iraq / Creating a threat where none existed

Most of the world now regards the United States as an arrogant cowboy nation that believes its military and economic might gives it the right to behave as it desires anywhere.

Pendulum

Bush Foreign Policy and Harsh Reality

The harsh reality of Iraq, where the American military proved easily able to win a war but cannot yet fashion peace, has all but overwhelmed other calculations, not only in the administration but in Congress. Lawmakers entering a campaign season returned from summer recess this week after hearing constituents’ questions about the casualties and costs that have mounted since the war.

Very good article.

Good Quote

As seen on Warblogging.com

“As you may have heard, the US is putting together a constitution for Iraq. Why don’t we just give them ours? Think about it ó it was written by very smart people, it’s served us well for over two hundred years, and besides, we’re not using it anymore.”
