Baseblogs – Obsessive fans track the national pastime on the Web. By Josh Levin
This is a fun article that talks about the proliferation of blogs dedicated to baseball. A subject near and dear to my heart. The author also gives some major props to some of my “hometown blogs”. In fact about two paragraphs of this story are dedicated to the Twinkies. Two of my favorite sites: Twins Geek (now hosted at the Startribune website) and Aaron’s Baseball Blog, both of which I have mentioned here before.
If you like baseball, to the point where you have a hard time getting enough news about your favorite team, check out this article. You could also jump to Baseball Blogs for a listing of most of the “A-List” baseball blogs.
BTW, Twins take on Cleveland tonight @ 7:05PM. And damn it all to hell!, it’s not on television. I’ll be tuning into the Dazzle Man (Dan Gladden), John Gordon and Herb Carneal.
I want to make a sign to bring to the dome: “IF THE TWINS PLAY, AND IT’S NOT ON TELEVISION, DOES IT REALLY HAPPEN?”

Needless to say, I’m a bit tired this morning after the big Twins win last night. I didn’t get home until 1 am. But we stayed until the end. Shannon Stewart delivered a 3 run walk off homer to win the game!
And man! That new turf sure looks nice. Maybe I can get that for my back yard. Won’t ever have to mow!

Little blew it
Joe Torre, on the other hand, knew when to take his starting pitcher out of the game.
We could have a Red Sox/Cubs World Series. But thanks to stupid, stupid decisions (indecisions) by both of their managers, we have Yankees, Marlins. Booooooorrrring
Why in the world did Prior pitch so deep into those games? What was Grady Little thinking leaving Pedro in there?

Ugh. Damn Yankees.
Watch the TV ratings plummet.
Cubs vs. Red Sox…. now that’s what I’m talking about.

Now that I’m a Cubs fan for the remainder of the season, I’ve been following with interest stories about them in news. Because we all know, if the Cubs and Red Sox get to the World Series… it could be the end of the world as we know it.
Along those lines, I came across this article in the Chicago Tribune:
Is it OK to pray for the Cubs?. It contains a lot of really good quotes about praying for a sports team. Something I always find a little bit funny. Here’s one good quote:
We can pray all we want, but it’s nice to have Kerry Wood on the mound.”

The Twins are facing some interesting decisions this offseason. If I were the GM, here’s what I’d do:
Sign Hawkins for 3 years, Stewart for 2, and Guardado for 2 years.
Trade Jacque Jones for some middle infield prospects
Let Rick Reed, The Gambler (Kenny Rogers), and Chris Gomez go.
Here’s what our roster would look like next year:
C – A.J. Perzynski
1B – Dougie
2B – Rivas
SS – Guzman
3B – Koskie
LF – Shannon Stewart
CF – Hunter
RF – Cuddyer / Lew Ford / Restovich / Other Unnamed OF
And a pitching rotation of, Santana, Lohse, Milton, Radke, ???
Who knows? It’s going to be crazy. I hope we can get Hawk back though. He’s our best reliever by a long shot.
Roster change is in the air
The Starting Staff
It’s going to be a fun offseason at least! Go Cubs!

Twins Win! Twins Win!
Eddie nearly killed me today, but he got the job done, I’m sure he got some butterflies out, and the Twins, as far as I’m concerned, are in the drivers seat for the ALDS.
Now, the series is forced play two games in Minnesota, with 55,000 screaming fans and one dirty, dirty roof. Next game, Thursday!
