Wow what a MacWorld Keynote!

That was a pretty wild keynote. You could tell Steve was pretty amped up about it from the beginning.

I can’t wait to test out some of the new applications. And I would suggest that everyone download and try out Safari, so far it’s looking pretty good.

BTW, this was posted with Kung-Log, I’m testing it out…

New App, Keynote

Goodness, they’ve been busy

Keynote, presentation app, Steve’s been using it for the last year…

Showing “beautiful” typography

Alignment guides Very cool

Support for alpha channels for graphics… and multiple different graphics file formats…

love the shot of the lady in the audience that doesn’t know she’s being filmed

Safari

Safari – Apple’s new Web Browser

“Fastest browser on the Mac”

iBench stats, 5 seconds faster than Chimera, 3 times faster than IE

Javascript test, Safari is twice as fast as IE

Launches 40% faster.

“We wanted to innovate”
Google is integrated Sweet! I love google, (and who doesn’t?)

Snapback takes you to the top of the page?

New bookmarks system

“We wanted to make it extremely easy to use”

Uses the metal interface ( Interface is very bare-bones looking)

Demoing…. Wow, it looks really fast…

Plugging Finding Nemo…

Quicktime, Flash, Java, all works… what’s that music making site he went to?

Bookmark adding looks nice, uses a sheet, lets you rename the bookmark right away…

Bookmarks library looks exactly like iTunes and iPhoto

Any website listed in your Address Book is in Safari

Are there tabs? I love tabs when I’m using Chimera

Ahhh snapback takes you back your google search…. Or back to the top level of any website you’ve typed in?

Bug button right in the window, so you can send website errors right back to them…

Obviously Apple wants to address the web browsing deficiency that has existed on the Mac (until now apparently)

Based on Open Source rendering engine… (Gecko?)

“Open Source, We think it’s great!” Posting all their improvments to the web.

Nope, using KHTML, from Konqueror?

Beta, for free, Today…. (presumably here, but not yet…

iDVD 3

Fully integrated with other iApps.

Demoing now…

Movies tab with all of your iMovies (the integration of the different apps is really amazing)

Showing different themes for iDVD (projector theme is awesome! as is Projector theme)

Steve is beside himself with how cool it all is. (And I’d have to agree. I need a DV camera)

“You can make this stuff!” -Steve Jobs

(DVD-Rs are now $3 each)

iMovie 3

Adding Chapters (automatically picked up in iDVD)

Access to stills from iPhoto (I could’ve used this)

More Precise Audio editing

No longer a full screen! 🙂

Timeline is all redone

iTunes playlist is right in there (really cool)

New Special effects and Sound effects from Skywalker sound

Back to the Audio editing. So much better than the old way.

Panning over still photos. (Ken Burns effect)

Entire iPhoto library is right in iMovie.

Ken Burns, pick a starting point, ending point, duration, and voila! Instant pans

New titles, new transitions…

New button for creating a DVD direct from iMovie

Auto creation of scene selection from chapters you’ve created in iMovie 3.

Digital Hub

iPhoto, iMovie, iTunes, iDVD

Apple created the digital hub space…

What have they learned? We want to use our music from iTunes, our Photos in iMovie, etc.

(multiple lines connecting the icons)

All new versions that are totally integrated…

“Apple’s Digital hub to be what MS Office is for Productivity” (close to a direct quote)

Today, iPhoto 2
1. Integrated with iTunes
2. One-click Enhance (“works amazingly well”)
3. Retouch brush
4. Archive to CD and DVD (thank you steve!)

Demoing it now (admittedly hard to see on the stream, maybe I’ll try upping my connection speed in Quicktime)

How do you make a slideshow on iDVD now? Click the iDVD button in iPhoto 2!

Going over 1-click enhance, looks pretty good.

Now going over retouch brush. Looks even cooler than 1-click enhance.

Removing various scrapes from children’s faces, and hairs in front of faces.

X only from here on out

Speed bumps and new products X only from here on out.
